MFA in Visual Studies candidate Lindsay William presents a solo show in the Lodge Gallery.
Artist Statement
This solo show consists of work that is compiled from years of genealogical research, personal stories, and documentation of my Syrian heritage. I am interested in how particular environments, landscapes, and place where my ancestors and relatives have immigrated to and from that change and adapt our own characteristics and have the power to elicit memory. By using food, scent, and traditional art materials cartography is illustrated through paintings and prints in this installation.
There will be a first Thursday opening August 3 from 6-8 pm.
