Jul 31 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Adrienne Antonson, Fashion Safehouse Artist-in-Residence and founder of the clothing label STATE, will speak about her art and design practice, which uses up-cycled and farm-direct fibers in the service of conscious, American Made design. During her two-week residency in MoCC’s Fashion Safehouse, Antonson will be creating an entire, self-contained wardrobe of garments, dressing herself from head to toe. Fully Clothed will make use of upcycled materials only, becoming an exercise in self-sufficiency and creativity under very specific constraints.
Adrienne Antonson is a mixed-media sculptor and designer. After living and working on an alpaca farm in the Pacific Northwest, she began incorporating the use of natural fibers in her sculpture as well as her apparel designs. Her clothing label, STATE, is based in Brooklyn, New York. It uses local manufacturing and sustainable materials, and is available online and in Seattle at Nube Green. She is also the Marketing + Retail Manager at the Textile Arts Center, Brooklyn.
