Thursday, May 4th // 6-9pm Lodge Gallery via Allied Works Architecture 1532 SW Morrison St, Portland, OR
Gallery hours: Weekdays 9am-5pm
Tangential features in-process and digressive work created by a selection of MFA candidates in the Applied Craft + Design program. Everything shown detours from the maker’s main body of work, but is still in conversation with the diverse research—both conceptually and materially—in which they are working. The AC+D program is one of diversity, producing work ranging from traditional craft, fine art, and everything in-between in hopes to lead to the gallery wall, the showroom floor, or the domestic space. The first year candidates’ work is one of developing and growing as they hone in on their selective ideas and projects, while the second year candidates focus on one considered practicum project to showcase their research and physical work.
Exhibition curated by Aaron De Lanty, Eliot Park, and Lauren Sinner.
Curatorial Fellow and MFA in Visual Studies candidate, Elena Thomas, is the present facilitator of exhibitions at the Lodge Gallery inside Allied Works Architecture and PNCA’s MFA Galleries / Student Project Spaces at 511 NW Broadway.
