Join Chris Gander for a short lecture and discussion regarding framing, followed by a practical framing workshop that will cover practical archival, aesthetic, and preservation framing. Students will walk away from this lecture and workshop with resources and tactics that can be used in the rest of their career.
During the lecture/discussion, Chris will discuss historical contexts and contemporary needs of framing, in addition to the methods and tactics most used and their advantages and disadvantages. He will also discuss concerns around both framing from both the archival and aesthetic side. The discussion will also target rough costs of framing and affordable workarounds as well as cost saving approaches and practical advantages when working on framing yourself. This is a lecture you won’t want to miss, full of resources and information about framing and it’s importance.
