MFA in Visual Studies is pleased to welcome Sara Greenberger Rafferty for a lecture on her work and practice as part of the MFA in Visual Studies Lecture Series.
Sara Greenberger Rafferty is a multimedia artist working in painting, sculpture, photography, installation and performance. Her work focuses on gender and body politics in and through comedic performance. Sara Greenberger Rafferty has exhibited widely since 2001, including solo exhibitions at The Kitchen, New York; MoMA PS1, New York; Eli Marsh Gallery at Amherst College, Massachusetts; The Suburban, Illinois; and a commissioned sculpture for the Public Art Fund. In 2014, she participated in the Whitney Biennial; the Hammer Biennial; and had solo exhibitions in Portland, Oregon, Riga, Latvia, and New York.
Visiting artists and curators enrich PNCA’s MFA in Visual Studies, a multidisciplinary, mentor-based program that encourages independent inquiry and supports critical approaches to the production of visual art. Grounded in one-on-one mentorships, the program is enhanced by exhibition opportunities, seminars, residencies, and national and international travel.
