“Show I Scheduled at the Beginning of the Summer to Make Me Do Work Over the Summer” (Recent Abstracts)
This show is a culmination of my experimentation with materials and methods over the past year. Although varied in concept each are ultimately a push/pull of structure and looseness. A true and pure vision can most easily come from spontaneity and without premeditation. Although there are elements of planning in each, the process was done in a way that allowed improvisation. The energy and looseness injected into the works is also an effort to make the viewer feel as close as possible to the actual process of creating the work.
Soren Iverson is a third year illustration student at Pacific Northwest College of Art. In his spare time he teaches wine and paintings classes for middle aged adults in Washington.
