Building Worth: An Exploration of Excess, Value and Meaning
Overconsumption and waste: many of us are aware of these twin problems but, what can we do to help? How can we start shifting our own entrenched habits?
We are building a space to share goods with each other at PNCA. The goal: to cut down on unnecessary consumption and waste while building connections with each other by sharing stories about our goods, rethinking the things we buy and building a true sharing community at our school.
We invite you explore the story of the people who have contributed to our space so far and see examples of the kinds of goods you’ll find when Worth opens in early December.
Re-think the worth of your excess goods. Come see what’s possible.
Please join the MFA in Collaborative Design for an Opening Reception on Tuesday, November 14th from 6-8pm, in PNCA’s Design Corridor, 2nd Floor.
WORTH will be on display November 13th - November 27th
Guests will be able to view collected items, along with associated stories about consumption, value and the future of sharing from people who have already donated to Worth. We will have a donation box at the entrance of our exhibition, so guests can feel free to donate an item while they are at the event, or anytime while the exhibition is up. We are accepting books, art supplies, clothing and household items in good condition. Our eventual SHARE Space will be tiny, so at this point we can only accept small items. Everyone who donates will fill out donation tags for each item they donate.
