In a hyperconnected globalized world, my art practice applies questions about human connectivity to the physical environment. This show is an exploration of my relationship to the land and the various complex levels at which I traverse it. I bring these inquiries to the broader, and simultaneously more specific, context of what we identify as home, community and identity. My work explores what connects them and questions if they are really different at all.

This show exhibits two installations, Aboreal and The Little Book of Country, which work collaboratively to navigate the various meanings of country. Drawing on familial history and personal narrative, my works navigate the world between - where culture and nature intersect and balance the other by contextualizing the stories of specific places that coexist with the individuals who live in, amongst and around these locations. The imagery of my work hinges upon this rhizomatic nature of relationships that binds communities to the land. Navigating through themes of memory, loss and mortality, my works visualize the forgotten and unseen moments of our history and entice viewers to take a closer look by examining their place within the physical world.
