Research can take many forms and often leads to widely varied outputs. Especially within the context of an art practice, research might be directly present in the final piece, might only inform the background or foundation of the work, or it might exist anywhere in between. Ow(n)ed comprises work from five artists who incorporate research elements in their art practice both in form and conceptual framework. Themed around relationships to the land, the work in Ow(n)ed is a look at the interweaving of finding and making.

The Curatorial Fellow and MFA in Visual Studies candidate, James Knowlton, is the present facilitator of exhibitions at the Lodge Gallery inside Allied Works Architecture and PNCA’s MFA Galleries/Student Project Spaces at 511 NW Broadway.
