i don’t drive, i cruise is an exhibition of new work by Brad Hoseley and Sean Chamberlain.
Opening reception April 5, 2018 from 6-9pm.
Brad Hoseley is a interdisciplinary artist, whose work is primarily focused on printmaking. A majority of his work utilizes archived gay pornographic images, gambling iconography, and abstracted shapes. His work is rooted in gay hookup culture, using cruising as a access point for his ideas and themes. These ideas/themes are focused on love, connection, and anonymity as a gay individual. How one can find a space to express their sexuality, or an alternative way of finding love. Everything is a gamble, love is chance based, and you’re one dice roll away from losing it all.
Sean Chamberlain is a queer artist and curator currently living in Portland. Chamberlain’s practice largely focuses on the anarchive, queer sociality, and the ethics of the second self. This work predominantly manifests through publication work, installation and nightlife performance, as well as being engaged through curatorial work and writing. S/He has exhibited at Composition, GAK Space, First Brick, One Grand Gallery and has performed in various nightclubs, both above and below ground. Chamberlain is the Co-Director of project205, a free educational archive for queer media and literature.
