This project is the result of an intimate examination of my memories and beliefs, an alteration of human identity, sexuality and individuality. Through this work I see my own fear and pain, and that who I was as a woman has changed. It is my way of reaching out to other people to involve them in talking about alienating experiences; how we operate in the world while facing trauma and challenging the general understanding of beauty and value, using gold as abject and fine patterning as an oppressive element.
Opening Reception: April 4th, 6-8pm
The Curatorial Fellows and MFA in Visual Studies candidates Kelly Brand and Qamuuqin Maxwell are the present facilitators of exhibitions at the Lodge Gallery inside Allied Works Architecture and PNCA’s MFA Galleries/Student Project Spaces at 511 NW Broadway.
