Builder and craftsman Allan Wexler gives a lecture for the MFA in Applied Craft and Design and the OCAC Wood program as part of the 2011-2012 Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series.

Allan Wexler’s work explores human activity and the built environment. He has worked in the fields of architecture, design and fine art for twenty-five years. He makes buildings, furniture, vessels and utensils as backdrops and props for everyday human activity, using series, permutations and chance rather than searching for definitive solutions. His works isolate, elevate and monumentalize our daily rituals, turning these ordinary activities into theater.

Co-sponsored by the Oregon College of Art and Craft Wood program.
