The MA in Critical Studies program is excited to welcome Annie McClanahan to present a public lecture on her work and research as part of the Hallie Ford School of Graduate Studies Lecture Series.

Annie McClanahan is an Associate Professor of English at University of California, Irvine. She is the author of Dead Pledges: Debt, Crisis, and 21st Century Culture (Stanford UP), co-winner of the Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present Best Book of 2016 prize. Her work has appeared in Post45, boundary2, theory & event, Representations, Journal of Cultural Economy, Journal of American Studies, South Atlantic Quarterly, and elsewhere. She is currently at work on a project titled “Tipwork, Microwork, Automation: Culture After the Wage.”
