Portland Metro Scholastic Art Awards

Feb 6, 2011 - Feb 25, 2011

Free and open to the public.

The Portland Metro Scholastic Art Awards are part of a national project that encourages, fosters and rewards creativity in our nation’s classrooms, and provide an avenue for young artists and writers to receive recognition for their creative achievements. Started more than 75 years ago, it is the largest and longest running recognition program of its kind in the nation. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a remarkable celebration of young and talented students of the arts at the middle and high school levels.

The show features Gold Key work from 7th- to 12th-grade students in the Clackamas, Washington and Multnomah counties. Gold Key work moves on to the National level to be adjudicated against the Gold Key work of other states. Last year the state of Oregon received the third most Gold Medals at the National level.
