Inspired by the Museum’s current and upcoming exhibitions on archival materials and artist books, the Columbia FiberArts Guild organized their exhibition for the Community Showcase around the theme of “Text”. Inspiration for the selected works on view comes from a variety of written material, letters, correspondence, posters, billboards, the alphabet, typefaces, calligraphy, graffiti and poetry.
In addition, Columbia FiberArts Guild artists will demonstrate their work in an informal setting in The Lab. Drop by The Lab on Saturday afternoons during the showcase and get to know the artists. Learn more about the Columbia FiberArts Guild and how to get involved on their website.
The Community Showcase, located in The Lab on the Museum’s second floor, exhibits outstanding community artwork as well as featured partnership projects. The Guild Council Program supports the dynamic relationship between regional artist-based organizations, the Museum and the College.
